1. Information We Collect
When you use Face 2 Face, we collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and sex.
- Profile Data: Photos, biography, interests, and preferences you add to your profile.
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including features used, matches made, and time spent.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
- Location Data: GPS coordinates when you enable proximity features (see Section 3).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and operate the Face 2 Face service.
- Match you with other users based on proximity and preferences.
- Verify your identity and maintain account security.
- Send you notifications about matches, messages, and app updates.
- Improve the app experience through analytics and research.
- Enforce our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.
3. Location Data
Location is central to the Face 2 Face experience. Here's how we handle it:
- GPS data is used to calculate proximity to other users in real-time.
- Other users see only your approximate distance — never your exact coordinates.
- Location data is processed in real-time and not permanently stored on our servers.
- You can disable location sharing at any time by going inactive in the app.
4. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Companies that help us operate the service (hosting, analytics, push notifications).
- Law Enforcement: When required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
- Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets.
5. No Advertising & No Data Monetization
Face 2 Face does not display advertisements and does not monetize your personal data. This is a core commitment that distinguishes us from other platforms:
- We will never use your dating preferences, matches, messages, or interactions to serve targeted advertisements — either within Face 2 Face or on any external platform.
- Your religious views, sex, sexual orientation, and relationship preferences are never shared with advertising networks or data brokers.
- We do not sell, rent, license, or otherwise monetize your personal information to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
- Our revenue model is based solely on optional premium subscriptions and in-app purchases — not on selling your data.
6. Social Media Independence
Face 2 Face is a standalone application. Your dating identity is completely separate from your social media presence:
- We do not import, access, or scan your contacts from your phone, Facebook, Instagram, or any social platform.
- We will never post to your social media accounts or reveal your Face 2 Face activity on external platforms.
- You will never be suggested as a match to someone you already know on social media, unless you both independently create Face 2 Face accounts and meet match criteria organically.
- If we introduce optional social media linking (e.g., showing Instagram photos on your profile), it will be clearly disclosed, fully opt-in, and can be disconnected at any time without account impact.
7. AI & Automated Processing
We use automated systems to improve your experience and maintain safety. Here’s how:
- Matching: Our algorithm considers proximity, stated preferences, and in-app behavior to suggest compatible connections. We do not use external data sources.
- Safety Screening: Automated moderation scans messages for policy violations (harassment, spam, solicitation). Flagged content may be escalated to our human safety team.
- No Generative AI Training: Your messages, photos, profile data, and preferences are never used to train large language models, generative AI systems, or machine learning pipelines outside the scope of operating this Service.
- Transparency: You may request an explanation of how our automated systems affected your account by contacting privacy@face2face.icu.
8. Automated Decision-Making & Profiling
To provide our Service, we use automated decision-making and profiling to recommend compatible connections based on your profile, preferences, and engagement patterns. We also use automated systems to flag profiles that may contain policy-violating content.
Under applicable law (including GDPR Article 22), you have the right to:
- Opt out of automated decision-making and profiling by contacting us. Please note that opting out may significantly limit the Service's functionality.
- Request human review of any automated decision that significantly affects you.
- Receive an explanation of the logic involved in automated decisions about your account.
9. Sensitive Personal Data
Some personal data you choose to provide may be considered "sensitive" or "special category" data under certain privacy laws, including:
- Racial or ethnic origin
- Sexual orientation and sex
- Religious or philosophical beliefs
- Political opinions
By providing this information in your profile, you explicitly consent to our processing of that data for the purpose of operating the Service. You may remove this information from your profile at any time, and you may withdraw consent by contacting privacy@face2face.icu.
10. Data Security
We take security seriously and implement industry-standard measures:
- End-to-end encryption for all direct messages.
- Secure, encrypted servers with regular security audits.
- Password hashing using modern cryptographic algorithms.
- Access controls that limit employee access to user data on a need-to-know basis only.
11. Your Rights

- Correct — Update any inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete — Request deletion of your account and all associated data.

- Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
- Important: Deleting the Face 2 Face app from your device does not delete your account. To delete your account and associated data, you must do so from "Settings" within the app.
13. Third-Party Services
Face 2 Face integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Maps SDK for map display and geocoding.
- Firebase for push notifications and authentication.
- Anonymized analytics services for app performance monitoring.
Each third-party service has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.
14. Cross-Border Data Transfers
The sharing of personal data as described in this Policy may involve the transfer of data across borders, including to the United States and other jurisdictions where data protection regulations may not offer the same level of protection as in your home country.
- Where users are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), their personal data may be transferred to countries outside of the EEA.
- We use Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or other suitable safeguards to permit these data transfers.
- These clauses are binding commitments between companies transferring personal data, ensuring the protection and security of your data.
15. Children's Privacy
Face 2 Face is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will immediately delete it and all associated data. If you suspect a user is under 18, please report them through the in-app reporting tools.
16. California Residents
If you are a California resident, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have additional rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
- No Sale of Data: Face 2 Face does not sell personal information to third parties. We have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@face2face.icu. Please allow 30 days for a response.
17. International Users
Face 2 Face is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through in-app notifications before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Face 2 Face after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
